Anti-Drug Campaign

Program Title: Anti-Drug Campaign (ലഹരി രി വി വി രുദ്ധ ക്യാ ക്യാ ക്യാ മ്പയി യി ൻ).

2. Campaign Theme & Objectives
The campaign is centered around the slogan “Venda Lahari” (Say No to Drugs). The primary objectives refl ected in the poster are:
Awareness: Highlighting the physical and social dangers of substance abuse, symbolized by the imagery of chains and skulls.
Participation: Encouraging the public and students to take a stand against addiction.
Commitment: The poster includes a call to action: “Sign and become a participant against drugs” (ലഹരി രി ക്കെ ക്കെ തി തി രെ രെ ഒപ്പി പ്പി ടൂ പങ്കാ ങ്കാ ളി ളി യാ യാ കൂ), suggesting a signature campaign or pledge-taking ceremony.

3. Visual Elements & Messaging
Imagery: The poster uses high-impact graphics, including a hand chained to drug paraphernalia, illustrating the loss of freedom and health caused by addiction.
Prohibited Items: Warning symbols are displayed for various substances, including injectable drugs, alcohol, and tobacco/smoking products.

4. Summary
This initiative by the NSS unit at Marian Academy serves as a vital community outreach program aimed at fostering a drug-free environment through active student and public engagement.


As part of the Lahari Virudha program , a 7s Football Tournament was organized to promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle among youth. The event aimed to engage students in sports activities and spread awareness about the importance of physical fi tness and staying away from harmful habits like drug abuse. Various teams participated enthusiastically, showcasing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The tournament created a positive environment where participants could focus on fi tness. . Overall, the event was successful in combining awareness with entertainment and encouraging youth to choose sports over drugs.


Skill Enhancement workshop

Skill Enhancement Workshop on Paper Pen and Bag Making

Overview
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Marian Academy of Management Studies successfully organized a Skill Enhancement Workshop focused on eco-friendly crafts, specifi cally Paper Pen and Bag Making. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable practices while equipping students with practical, hands-on creative skills.

Session Highlights
The workshop was led by Aby M. Alex, a dedicated NSS Volunteer, who served as the resource person.

The session covered:

  • Eco-Friendly Innovation: Instructions on how to substitute single-use plastics with handmade paper products.
  • Step-by-Step Training: Participants were guided through the technical process of constructing durable paper bags and functional paper pens.
  • Skill Development: Beyond the craft itself, the session encouraged entrepreneurship and environmental consciousness among the student body

Photography Contest

Kerala Prabha” Photo Contest
Organized By: NSS Unit, Marian Academy of Management Studies (MAMS)
Event Name: Kerala Prabha (Photo Contest)
Objective: To capture and celebrate the cultural essence and traditional beauty of Kerala.

Key Highlights:

  • Prizes: Awards of ₹1001 (1st Place) and ₹501 (2nd Place).
  • Entry Requirements: * Open to mobile and camera photography. Strictly no editing, watermarks, or selfies. Entries must be original and previously unpublished.
  • Submission Process: Participants must email their entry with their name and phone number to nssmams2025@gmail.com.
  • Selection Criteria: A combination of Jury evaluation and Instagram engagement (likes) on the @NSS.MAMS offi cial page.
  • Deadline: November 7, 5:30 PM.
  • Current Status: The program is currently inviting entries to promote Kerala’s heritage through digital storytelling.

AIDS DAY

As part of our NSS activities, World AIDS Day was observed to create awareness about HIV/AIDS and promote a sense of responsibility among students.
The program included the distribution of red ribbons across the campus as a symbol of support and solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS. An awareness class was also conducted to educate students about the causes, prevention, and myths related to AIDS. The activities helped in spreading accurate knowledge and encouraged students to be more compassionate and socially responsible towards affected individuals.


14 February , Pulwama Attack

As part of our NSS activities, we solemnly observed the remembrance of the Pulwama attack on February 14 to honor the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
The program aimed to pay tribute to the martyrs and create awareness among students about the importance of national unity and patriotism.The observance instilled a sense of responsibility, respect, and pride among the participants, making it a meaningful and impactful event.


Women’s day

As part of our NSS activities, a Women’s Day program was organized in connection with International Women’s Day to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in society.
The program aimed to promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, and respect for women. Various activities such as awareness sessions, speeches, and interactive discussions were conducted to highlight the importance of equal rights and opportunities for women. Students actively participated in the program and expressed their views on the role of women in social, economic, and cultural development. The event helped in creating awareness and encouraging a positive attitude towards building a more inclusive and respectful society.


Citizen Response Program

As part of our NSS activities, a Citizen Response Program was conducted in collaboration with the Government of Kerala to create awareness about the role of citizens in building a responsible and progressive society. The program focused on informing students about new initiatives, public services, and responsibilities introduced by the government for the welfare of the people.

It highlighted the importance of active participation, cleanliness, environmental protection, and following civic rules. Interactive sessions and discussions were conducted to encourage students to share their ideas and understand how they can contribute positively to society. The program successfully motivated students to become responsible citizens and actively participate in community development activities.
