As part of offering   Outcome-based education (OBE) Department of  Social Work is offering add on course which enables   the education to give   emphasis on a clearly articulated idea of what students are expected to know and be able to do  after the completion of the course. Inorder to enhance the quality of education department of Social Work  decided to offer  3 Add on course  in the academic year 2023-2025.

• Participatory Rural Appraisal

This course is the  based on the  outcome based education which enables the learner to assist in the task of planning for village development.  This course will help the learner s question  about Where do you begin? How do you get started? In order to plan, you need data and information about the village in question. You need the details of population, households; various occupations people are involved in, common infrastructure facilities available such as school, anganwadi, conditions of drinking water supply, sanitation, primary health care, conditions of road, electricity, and physical / electronic connectivity and so on. So, you need data and information so that you can identify the shortfall / gaps and plan for fulfilling the gaps 

• Counselling and Psychotherapy

This course is designed to provide the learner with advanced exploration and analysis of counselling techniques as well as Psychotherapy.  As part of ensuring outcome based Education,  this add on course will enable the learner to get the opportunity to learn the concepts of traditional and contemporary counseling practice and various psychotherapies under the supervision of a Registered Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, and Clinician. The course modules follow a natural progression from personal development to theoretical approaches and skills practice, while also giving students an insight into counselling and psychotherapy as a profession.

The course allows the learner to gain extensive knowledge and practical application of counselling skills and psychotherapy skills that students can apply at various places like clinics, hospitals, schools, industries, etc. The learner will also get to learn the psychotherapeutic approach for different Psychological disorders. This certificate program can also be useful to a professional counsellor who needs a touch-up on new systems and practices in the field. The focus of the course is on developing the counselling and psychotherapy skills of personal presence and awareness of the process. Attention is also paid to interpersonal and group skills.
